The Masterpiece is Thomson's ultimate seatpost: it combines the strength and durability of the Elite post in a lighter package. Made in the USA it features a post and cradle machined from one piece of 7000 aluminum for durability and strength, long seat rail cradle limits saddle rails from bending, captive hardware and infinite tilt adjustment between -5 degrees and +29 degrees all in a package that's 40 grams lighter than a comparably sized Elite post.
The Masterpiece is over 40% stronger on ultimate strength tests than the strongest production seatposts on the market. This weight reduction is accomplished while maintaining the strength and durability expected of a Thomson seatpost. Thomson accomplishes this weight reduction by machining the seatpost all over, including the oval inner diameter. They are able to hold closer tolerances by machining than by extrusion alone. Machining over an already beautiful design makes the Masterpiece Seatpost a work of art.
