It was a pleasure to see that Green didn’t skip over the foundational pieces that provide the logical underpinning to the characteristics and concerns of advanced pieces. For example, when we wring our hands about the accuracy of AI, she demonstrates that accuracy has always been a concern of digital intelligence and not something unique to AI.Stories of real situations reify the concepts. Moreover, Green has taken a subject of many layers and complexities and treats these not just as parts but how the parts interact systemically. The stories further clarify what the interaction means to society and how misuse can confuse, obfuscate, deceive, and disrupt.Green’s book is solid and entertaining, helping the reader learn the concepts and how to apply them in their own situations.
