550 "Aime Leon Dore - White Navy Red" BB550A3

The Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 550 “White/Navy-Red” is an April 2021 collaboration between Teddy Santis’s New York based streetwear brand and New Balance. Debuting in 1989 as part of New Balance’s basketball collection, the 550 was never worn exclusively by one player or tied to any specific memorable moments in the NBA. The shoe would become phased out and mostly forgotten until Aimé Leon Dore worked with New Balance to re-release and reinvigorate it in 2020. The retro design displays a smooth and dotted white leather base. Metallic red accenting on the “550” insignia on the forefoot and “N” branding on the mid-panel bring old school style elements to the shoe. Aime Leon Dore and “NB” detailing appears on the back of the left and right shoe, respectively. The pre-yellowed midsole is a nod to the nostalgic vibe of the New Balance 550.
